Murukan family to meet Pinarayi Vijayan

The Chief Minister had earlier in the Legislative Assembly apologised to the family of Murukan for the callous incident.

Kollam: The family of Murukan, who died in an ambulance after he was denied treatment at various hospitals in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram, visited CPM Kollam district secretary K.N. Balagopal on Sunday. The meeting was a prelude to the family’s meeting with the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expected to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

The family members who met Mr. Balagopal shared their apprehensions over the police investigation that is yet to figure out the actual culprits behind the sad demise of Murukan. The Chief Minister had earlier in the Legislative Assembly apologised to the family of Murukan for the callous incident. However, the State Government has not announced any financial aid to the destitute family that has lost its sole breadwinner.

Murukan, 37, Thuruppu middle street, Thuraikkudi, Radhapuram in Thirunelveli died on Monday morning. He was gravely injured in a motorcycle accident at Chathannoor here and had to wait at least eight hours in an ambulance after being denied treatment at various private hospitals as he allegedly lacked money and had no bystander.
