Kiran Bedi stresses need for 'Clean and Green Puducherry'
Puducherry: Lt Governor Kiran Bedi has urged the people of Puducherry to become conscious of cleanliness 'true to the proverbial saying of cleanliness is next only to godliness'.
In her greetings to the people on the eve of the 70th Independence Day, she said there should be firm commitment to create a clean and green Puducherry 'that shines in all fronts'.
Bedi said that the Puducherry government, heeding the call of Prime Minister for Swachh Bharath was pursuing the goal of Swachh Puducherry.
The government was walking the extra mile to make the union territory open defecation union territory by October 2, 2017 as committed by the Chief Minister
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy in his message said his government was striving hard to ensure balanced development of all the four regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam.
He also said the perspective plans were being brought out to ensure multi dimensional development in all sectors.
