Karnataka: Anti-India slogans in college? students protest
Bengaluru: ABVP members protested in front of United Theological College in JC Nagar on Saturday night after some activists, taking part in a programme earlier in the evening, had allegedly shouted slogans demanding “freedom” for Kashmir from India.
The event – Broken Families – at the college, organised by the Amnesty International (AI), was stopped midway. AI had invited some families from Kashmir to highlight the plight of the people in the trouble-torn state. “The event was organised between 5 pm and 7.30 pm and was attended by nearly 350 people. The police were also present. A few participants shouted slogans against the Indian Army. We will not allow this to happen in Bengaluru. We want the city police to answer who allowed the organisation to hold this event," said ABVP activist Tanmayi.
Hundreds of ABVP activists started gathering in front of the college from 11 pm. They also filed a police complaint.
