MLAs' security removed as per norms, Hyderabad High Court told

The affidavits were filed on the direction of the court while dealing with the petitions by both MLAs.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Police has informed the Hyderabad High Court that it has withdrawn the security to Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and S.A. Sampath Kumar based on the notification issued by the assembly secretariat expelling them from the House and also notifying the assembly segments which they represented as vacant.

The superintendents of police from Gadwal and Nalgonda filed separate affidavits before the High Court, stating that they had nothing against both the MLAs and the security was withdrawn according to set procedure. The State-Level Security Review Committee had examined the notification issued by the assembly secretariat and decided to withdraw security to both of them, they said. The affidavits were filed on the direction of the court while dealing with the petitions by both MLAs, seeking to direct the state government to restore their security cover.
