Visakhapatnam: Hundreds of college students participated in a rally urging boycott China-made products in the city here on Thursday. K. Vasu, a representative of Jana Jagarana Samiti which led the rally said, “India is one of the biggest importers of Chinese products in the world which would worth about Rs 60 lakh crore annually,”

“China is always trying to create dispute between the north eastern states and other parts of the country. Moreover, it is now trying to occupy our area. We people should understand it and boycott the products without any second thought,” he added. Students from several schools participated in the rally. They displayed placards and took pledge to not use Chinese products.

Some civilians also joined the protest. “Students should know about the India and China border dispute. Many stationery, like pens, compass boxes and erasers are all made in China. Even if we are able to hurt the economic gains that China makes through our country by a little, it will mean we are doing our bit,” said another member of the outfit.
