Bengaluru: National Green Tribunal has adjourned the hearing on Bellandur lake fire, which became a national headline, to August 9. Karnataka High Court stayed all proceedings in the Bellandur lake case before the Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal in New Delhi. While the state government informed the tribunal that the proceedings have been stayed by HC, Namma Bengaluru Foundation, petitioner in the case before NGT, informed the tribunal that they have challenged the HC stay order before Supreme Court. On Wednesday, NBF filed an SLP against the stay order and it is likely to be listed for the hearing the coming week. Shasi Distillery had challenged tribunal's April 19 order on the grounds that the Delhi Bench of NGT has no jurisdiction to hear the matter that comes under the jurisdiction of Southern Bench of NGT in Chennai.
