Don't politicise my father's death: Ganapati's son

Nehal appealed to all political parties on Wednesday not to politicise his father's death.

Mysuru: Nehal Ganapati, son of DySP MK Ganapati, who commited suicide last week, appealed to all political parties on Wednesday not to politicise his father’s death.

Asked about the notice issued to his family by the CID investigating the case, Mr Nehal said a decision would be taken on appearing before it after the final rites of his father were held on July 17.

“There will be rituals and poojas at Talacauvery in accordance with Kodava customs. Soon after that we will take a call on appearing for the CID inquiry,” he explained.

Meanwhile in the notice served to Mr Ganapati’s widow, Pavan, CID Investigation Officer, E B Sridhar recalled she had said she was in no condition to give a statement when approached on July 9 and had promised to get back to them. However, she later filed a complaint with the Kushalnagar rural police station, he noted.

“Kodagu S P Rajendra Prasad forwarded the complaint to me, asking us to include it in the investigation of the case registered by the Madikeri town police station. So we would like to get an authentic statement from you and your children in person,” he said, asking her to fix a date on which the CID could also visit her house in Mangaluru and look for evidence if any.
