Telangana High Court holds back order on MLCs’ disqualification
The petitioners said the action was taken merely on the basis of media reports.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court reserved its judgment on the petitions of three former MLCs — R. Bhupathi Reddy, Yadava Reddy and Ramulu Naik — who filed individual petitions challenging the disqualification ord-ers issued against them on the grounds of defection by the Legislative Council Chairman.
The petitioners said the action was taken merely on the basis of media reports.
After lengthy arguments came to an end on Thursday by the petitioners’ advocates and state government’s counsel on behalf of the Council Chairman, a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Shameem Akther reserved its decision.
