K Chandrasekhar Rao supporting political mafia: Mallu Bhatti

He said his recent fast was the beginning of the fight to save democracy, and he would continue with it.

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Legislature party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was encouraging “political mafia and political terrorists” to encroach on democracy.

Mr Mallu Bhatti alleged, “Democracy is in a dangerous situation. The political mafia and political terrorists are encroaching on democracy, KCR is encouraging them from behind.” Democracy is being murdered in daylight, he claimed.

He said his recent fast was the beginning of the fight to save democracy, and he would continue with it. He said Mr Rao was encouraging defections and challenged him to a debate on the anti-defection law.

The CLP leader asked if it was not a fact that Mr Rao was making “transactions” with defected MLAs at his official residence, Pragathi Bhavan. He said if the defections were not stopped, in future rich persons could buy MLAs and MPs and become Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers.

Mr Mallu Bhatti challenged the defected MLAs to resign and seek a fresh mandate from the people if they had the courage.

Reacting to remarks that there was no leadership in the Congress, Mr Mallu Bhatti said the party set-up had not changed before or after the elections. “If there is no leadership, why they did not leave the party before the elections,” Mr Mallu Bhatti asked. He said he would conduct a round-table meeting on defections.
