32 unrecognised schools seized in Visakhapatnam on day one
Visakhapatnam: The district education officials on the directions of HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, checked infrastructure, credentials and recognition of schools in the district and seized about 32 unrecognised schools on Monday.
Speaking on this occasion, DEO, M.V. Krishna Reddy, requested the parents to not join their wards in unrecognised schools and check the credentials of the schools before joining them.
Mr. Reddy and MEOs of various Mandals conducted the checks in various parts of the district right from Monday morning.
“The schools should display their recognition certificate in the notice board. Parent should be aware of the unrecognised schools as we are not allowing the students to write tenth class exams privately from this academic year.
The schools are prohibited from selling books, uniforms, shoes or other stationery. The schools should drop fancy tags such as Techno School, Olympiad Schools, etc. from the school names.
“Following instructions of HRD minister, we formed the taskforce committee. We would intensify checks on schools in the next few days and seize all unrecognised schools in the district,” he added.
