Doctors at King Koti not getting stipend, dozen suffering from Covid
HYDERABAD: Some hundred odd senior residents working at King Koti Hospital have not been paid their stipends from February 2021. A dozen of them are now suffering from Covid 19 and not able to report to work.
A senior resident on condition of anonymity says, "How are we to work? What is the motivation? We are seeking our stipend that has not been paid. Many of us are now suffering from the disease and need to take help from family."
The senior residents say no one is listening to them despite the several representations. There are only assurances that they will be paid.
The junior doctors association states that infected family members of healthcare workers are also not getting a bed in Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences due to crowding of patients.
JUDA has urged the government to increase the bed capacity in NIMS and offer free treatment to the family members of doctors.
