However, the Joseph faction expressed dissatisfaction.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress (Mani) working chairman P.J. Joseph will hold the temporary charge until the party elects a new chairman.

General secretary Joy Abraham, who holds the organisational responsibility, announced the decision amidst reports that district presidents wanted Jose K. Mani to lead the party following his late father's footsteps.

However, the Joseph faction expressed dissatisfaction.

Mr Joseph had clarified that there is no such directive and also there is no instruction to make C. F. Thomas the parliamentary party leader.

The factional feud has intensified in the party between Joseph and Mani factions after the death of party chairman K. M. Mani.
