Chennai: More than two months after her Twitter account was allegedly hacked and her emails accounts were compromised, singer and TV show anchor Suchitra R. on Saturday approached the Chennai police seeking action against those responsible for it.
She wanted the police to find the person who had ‘dispatched derogatory mails in the first week of April from her compromised e-mail account to a popular person’ in film industry.
Immediately after the incident Suchitra tried to distance herself from her twitter handle saying it was hacked, her husband noted that Suchitra was going through a depression.
A number of fake Twitter handles surfaced in the name of Suchitra at that time with lot of porn contents. Initially Suchitra through her Twitter handle had alleged that an actor and a music composer had misbehaved with her. But later she claimed her Twitter account was hacked.
In her complaint lodged with the city police on Saturday, she said that she could not deactivate her Twitter account immediately after the incident and her husband contacted office of Twitter India to
deactivate the account. “Immediately 40-50 ghost accounts appeared claiming to be my temporary account. Some of those accounts are still active,” she said and listed names of active Twitter accounts supposed to be her ghost Twitter handles.
