Vijayawada: The total turnout of the voters in the AP Assembly was put at 79.64 and for the Lok Sabha it was 79.74 per cent, slightly more than that of 2014 polls.
After calculating the voter turnout district-wise, the state election authorities announced the final poll percentage past midnight on Friday.
The calculation of the poll percentage took time as at some places, polling went on till the wee hours of Friday. The voter turnout in 2014 was 78.41 percent. The 2019 poll percentage is 1.23 percent more than the 2014 polls.
A total 3.13 crore voters exercised their franchise in these polls. Women outnumbered the men in casting their vote.
Around 1.57 crore women voted while it was 1.55 crore men who had exercised their voting right, according to the State Election Commission.
