State Election Commission not to release local poll results before Lok Sabha
Hyderabad: The State Election Commission (SEC) has decided to conduct elections to the zilla and mandal parishads in three phases.
The SEC is yet to take a decision on the date of counting votes for the polls, as the counting for the general elections is scheduled on March 23. The SEC has been told not to release the results before those of the general elections.
For the first phase, contestants can file nominations till April 24 and withdrawals will be allo-wed till April 28. Polling will be held on May 5.
The SEC will receive nominations for the second phase from April 26 to 28 and May 2 is the last date for withdrawal. Polling will be conducted on May 10. For the third phase, the filing of nominations will be between April 30 and May 2. They can be withdrawn till May 6. The voting will be on May 10.
