Bengaluru: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) on Friday warned SSLC evaluators that they will face stringent action if they fail to attend of the valuation camps.
“The SSLC results of schools (government/aided/unaided) which fail to send evaluators will be withheld and affiliations of aided and unaided schools will be cancelled,” reads the notice.
The valuation is scheduled to be held from Monday till April 25 and the results are expected to be announced in the first week of May.
PU lecturers threaten boycott
Members of the Karnataka State Pre-University Lecturers' Association (KSPULA) have called for a boycott of classes in protest against the government’s decision to reopen colleges early in the coming academic year.
In the calendar of events published by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE), the second PU classes are scheduled to start from May 2, while that of first PU from 14.
The association pointed out that the lecturers were involved in the valuation work till March 18 and they will have to be on invigilation duty from April 16 to 28 for I PU supplementary exams.
“We demand that either the schedule should be withdrawn or the government should declare the department as one without vacations. Else, we will boycott classes from May 2,” read the statement.
Also, the Dasara vacation was cut short in 2017, it stated.
DPUE Director C. Shikha said that the schedule was drawn up in the interest of students. With the I PU exams concluding on February 21, the students have availed a vacation of 69 days till May 2. For lecturers, evaluation is also part of their duty and they are paid a special honorarium of Rs 768 per day for working during vacation, she said.
