Vijayawada: The Kanakadurga temple authorities are planning to shift administration offices, shops, Prasadam, Annadanam and other counters from atop Indrakeeladri to the foot hill. It triggered fresh debate at the temple.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed that the hill should be decongested and maintained like that of Tirumala Tirupati Devesthanams, EO of the temple S.S. Chandrasekhar Azad told this correspondent.

There are about 120 staff in the temple administration wing and all of them would be shifted to a shelter at the Brahmana Street namely Indrakeeladri shelter. In fact, this shelter has been providing accommodation to the pilgrims who come from various places from both the Telugu states.

Mr Azad explained that Annadanam would be shifted to Arjun street, shops to Mallikharjuna Mahamandapam, Prasadalu to Gosala and others in consideration.
He also said that they would construct one way track to reach God and Goddess in a single line for the pilgrims.

He said that they would make free place atop Indrakeeladi in order to allow maximum number of pilgrims for the Darsan of Durga at a time. He also said that because of all these offices, shops and stands, the hill became congested. That has been causing inconvenience to the pilgrims.
