BENGALURU: Despite a row over the functioning of a diagnostic lab on the premises of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) Hospital, the lab will start operating soon, hospital authorities said on Wednesday.
“We have nothing to fear as all rules have been followed. Since it is an e-procurement, we had no idea that Matrix Solutions was co-owned by CM Siddaramaiah's younger son,” said Dr Girish, Special Officer, PMSSY Hospital.
He stressed that the Transparency in Public Procurement Act and all other legalities were followed. “We have honoured all specifications. Just because of this political issue, the lab will not stop functioning,” he said.
BMCRI sources said that though the same lab offers services at many government hospitals, the issue came to light only after the lab signed an MoU with PMSSY, as it angered many doctors.
“These doctors get a cut from private labs running near Victoria Hospital and with the new lab, it could be a major blow for them,” a source alleged.
