Telangana: No hurry to take call on candidates

Several sitting MPs met the party chief in view of reports that some of the sitting MPs may not get be renominated.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said that party leaders aspiring for TRS tickets had been told that the party would not take decisions in a hurry in selecting candidates.

Several sitting MPs met the party chief in view of reports that some of the sitting MPs may not be renominated this time. There were reports that the CM was likely to drop the sitting MPs of Mahbubnagar, Khammam and Mahbubabad.

Sources in the TRS revealed that the CM said that the candidates for the 16 Lok Sabha seats would be finalised only by taking into consideration all factors including the winning prospects as the party was keen on winning 16 seats.

Sources said that the Chief Minister assured the MPs that he would call all the sitting MPs for a lunche on meet either on March15 or March 16 to take their views before finalising the candidates.
