Nellore: TD leader Pellakuru Srinivasulu Reddy has faxed his resignation to the TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday.
He has been eyeing the Kovur ticket from a long time and is upset with the party for offering the seat to sitting member Polamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy.
Pellakuru claimed that TD assured Kovur ticket to him when he staked claim for the seat in 2014 with a condition that he should work for the victory of Polamreddy then.
Reminding that Polamreddy won because of his efforts, Pellakuru has been demanding for the seat this time. His name was considered for Nellore rural segment at one stage but Mr Naidu has chosen Adala Prabhakar Reddy for the seat.
He was also angry with TD for floating his name for Nellore Lok Sabha seat and ignoring him later. Speaking to media persons after submitting his resignation, Pellakuru said he was quitting TD because of the policies and attitude of district unit president Beeda Ravichandra.
