Mancherial: CCTVs at ferry points to keep check on Maoists

Mancherial: Mancherial district DCP Rakshitha K. Murthy on Wednesday said that they will set up CCTV cameras at ferry points to keep a close watch on the movements of Maoists along the river Pranahitha.

Rakshitha visited the shore of the river Pranahitha and inspected the ferry points along the river.

Police suspect that Maoists may enter the Telangana by crossing the river Pranahitha with the help of fishermen and boatmen.

Ms Rakshitha also inspected the Neelvai police station in view of tightening security arrangements for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

She also visited the ferry points at Arujuni gutta, Venchapalli, Mukkidigudem, Gajulapeta, Racharla, Godumapalli, Kallapalli in the Jaipur sub- division, Chennur rural, Kotapalli police station limits which is on the state border.

She asked the people not to cooperate with anti- social elements and cooperate with the police to ensure that the ensuing Lok Sabha elections is conducted in a free and fair.

She travelled the river Pranahitha in country made boat and interacted with local villagers, boatmen and fisherman. She inquired about the problems they were facing, if any. She also inquired about the local police staff and how they were behaving with them.

Rakshitha inquired with the local people about the Maoists movements in the area and asked the people to inform the police if they come across any new persons in the area. Chennur Rural CI Jagadeesh, Neelvai SI Bhumesh, Kotapalli SI Ramesh were present.
