Bengaluru: Lorry driver lynched after he runs over boy, 6 held
Bengaluru: The Hebbagodi police arrested six people, including a woman, for lynching a lorry driver after his vehicle knocked a scooter killing a six-year-old boy in Ananth Nagar in Hebbagodi on Sunday.
The accused have been identified as Anand Kumar (19), Ishwari (30), Rakesh (29), Pramod Kumar (19), Ravi N.L. (40) and Prakash B.K. (19).
The accident occurred around 4.30 pm on Sunday when the concrete mixer lorry driven by Radhe Shyam, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, crashed into a scooter on which the six-year-old Arhan Khan was riding the pillion.
Arhan fell off the scooter and directly came under the front wheel of the lorry. He died on the spot, while Sadaf Bukhai, who was riding the bike, sustained severe injuries
Soon after the accident, a mob gathered and dragged Radhe Sham out of the lorry and beat him up black and blue. The Hebbagodi police reached the spot in time and rescued the driver and shifted him to Narayana Hrudalaya, where he died of injuries.
The cops registered a case, obtained the CCTV footage from the spot, identified the mob and arrested them.
