HYDERABAD: Among the 66 flights cancelled on Tuesday in the country, four flights of Indigo and GoAir were cancelled from Hyderabad airport. The flights were cancelled after the country’s aviation regulator DGCA grounded 11 of their A320Neo planes with faulty Pratt and Whitney engines, causing severe inconvenience to hundreds of flyers.
Agitated passengers demanded compensation from the airlines who cancelled their flights and also demanded that both the airlines Indigo and Go-Air should be severely penalised for running their flights without proper safety standards and lack of security.
Passengers lashed out at both the airlines on twitter and other social media networks. Many tweeted seeking information about their flight details or news of their flights being cancelled or rescheduled.
Usha Sunil, one of the passenger tweeted, “Please can we have the list of flights cancelled for the next one week in the light of your 10 flights being grounded as per news.”
Prashant Menon, a passenger who is travelling from Thiruvanthapuram to Bengaluru tweeted, “Indigo, considering today’s incident, should I cancel my flight scheduled for this Friday.” However, Indigo confirmed that his flight was not cancelled.
