Telangana: IT sector may get more cash

State had recorded exports of Rs 57,258 crore in both the IT and IT enabled Services in 2014-15.

Hyderabad: Targeting Rs 2 lakh crore of exports, the IT sector will get more allocations in Monday’s Budget. With 3.23 lakh employees, the state had recorded exports of Rs 57,258 crore in both the IT and IT enabled Services in 2014-15. The exports increased to Rs 66,276 crore with an increase of nearly 50,000 employees.

Following the assurances given by companies like Google, Amazon and others of establishing their campuses in and around Hyderabad city, IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and officials are expecting nearly Rs 2 crore exports this year.

This year, the IT sector may get more funds to expand the IT corridor and establishing the second phase of the T-Hub with gaming and animation zones and incentives. Money may be allocated for simultaneous laying of fibre cables along with pipelines under Mission Bhagiratha and extending the e-Panchayat to more areas.
