Telangana Budget today may prune plans

It is expected that many outdated schemes would be scrapped.

Hyderabad: Telangana state’s annual Budget will be presented in the Legislature on Monday. The Budget to be presented by finance minister Etela Rajender is said to be “revolutionary” with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao conducting prolonged preparatory meetings and deciding to allot Rs 25,000 crore for irrigation.

It is expected that many outdated schemes would be scrapped. During a review last month with Mr Rao, it was found that over Rs 30,000 crore of allocations in the last Budget had remained unspent.
