Chennai: A police constable escaped unhurt while his official patrolling bike was crushed under a tree that fell on II main Road at Jeeva Nagar in Adambakkam on Sunday morning.
Police constable Ravi was on his way for patrolling in the area when he noticed the tree falling slowing on the road. He stopped the bike and warned all others present on the road when the tree fell. He was on his way to the office of a residents’ welfare association to get a signature as part of his patrolling duty when the incident happened.
“Though Ravi was caught under the branches, he managed to come out unhurt while his bike was crushed under the tree. Later Chennai corporation employees reached the spot the remove the tree from the road. “It was cut in to pieces and the police bike was taken out,” police said.
