600-MW unit at Adilabad joins grid

The synchronisation started at 11 am when power production was at 50 MW. It was gradually increased to reach 600 MW by 3 pm.

Hyderabad: In a major boost to the energy sector, the 600 MW Singareni thermal power plant at Jaipur mandal in Adilabad was successfully synchronised with the grid on Sunday.

Singareni Collieries chairman N. Sridhar congratulated officials for completing the project in time. He said the synchronisation of another 600 MW unit would also be completed by April and both units would be ready for commercial operations the by first week of May,” he said.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will dedicate the 1200 MW Singareni power to the Telangana state. “The synchronisation started at 11 am when power production was at 50 MW. It was gradually increased to reach 600 MW by 3 pm. The power was synchronised with the Gajwel grid,” an official from SCCL said.
