Hyderabad: Many junior doctors oppose the move of the Telangana State Medical Council to increase the registration fee of doctors to Rs 4,000. They say that TSMC has become a puppet in the hands of the government.
Chairman of the Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association P.S. Vijayendra Goud, said, “The Telangana State Medical Council is a body which has to ensure that the medical profession is ethically run. It has been increasing the registration fee without any scientific reason. It only concentrates on registrations and leaves out enforcement on the illegal clinics.”
He said that a new body should be formed by election and the decision to increase the registration fee should be scrapped. “We need an an explanation of how they are spending the registration amount.”
