Communist Party of India slams Chandrasekhar Rao over Cabinet

He said that CM should take responsibility for the failure of Haritharam in the state.

Khammam: The Communist Party of India found fault with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not expanding his Cabinet even though Assembly elections were held two months ago, and he was returned to power as CM.

CPI state deputy secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said that Mr Rao brought back memories of a feudal rule where only the king and minister ruled a kingdom.

He added that the Chief Minister was spending his time performing Yagnas and religious rituals instead of solving the issues of the poor.

“Not forming a full-fledged cabinet in a democracy is nothing but humiliating the people of the state. KCR is behaving like a feudal lord not as the chief minister of a state,” Mr Sambasiva Rao said. He added that there were various sections and people of different religious in society and the government should protect the secular fabric of the society. “What is the message being given by CM by performing rituals of Hindu religion?” he asked.

He said that CM should take responsibility for the failure of Haritharam in the state. “It is not correct on part of the CM to warn the sarpanches that they will be dismissed if they failed to raise and protect the saplings under Haritharam,” he said.

He added that the CPI would contest in four Lok Sabha constituencies in TS and added that Khammam parliament constituency-level meeting will be held on February 26.
