i-Hub to yield dividends, says KT Rama Rao
Hyderabad: A creative space where agricultural tech entrepreneurs, scientists and technology experts can collaborate to innovate cutting edge ideas across the whole agriculture value chain for smallholder farmers, was opened on Monday at the Patancheru-based Icrisat.
IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the innovation Hub (iHub).
iHub includes a spread of over 10,000 sq. ft., located at Icrisat, India. Among the star attractions is a 40-seater accelerator facility.
Describing the iHub as “very important for farmers”, Mr Reddy underlined the need for enhancement of farmers’ income, reduce their investments and increase in productivity so that they don’t have to depend on loans every year.
Mr Rama Rao said, “Convergence of technology with the distressed sectors like agriculture is the key to empowering our farmers and improve productivity.”
