Milma hits gold route to enthuse customers in Kerala

Co-op launches Kanakadhara Scheme, to give out gold coins to 1,500 families.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (TRCMPU) has announced Kanakadhara, a lucky draw scheme, for the consumers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts.

Gold coins worth Rs 50 lakh will be distributed to1,500 lucky consumers in 45 days from February 16 to March 31. An 8-digit lucky draw number will be printed on the milk packets distributed by the regional union, regional union chairman Kallada Ramesh told reporters here on Saturday.

The lucky draw will be conducted on every 15th day of the scheme. There would be a total of three lucky draws selecting 500 winners each.

The consumers are advised to keep the empty milk packets until Milma announces the winners, who can collect the gold coins in exchange for the eligible packets at any dairy under TRCMPU.

The results will be announced through www. milmatrcmpu.com or by authorised Milma agencies in the region. Kanakadhara will have exclusive lucky draws for its agents for 600 lucky winners. The lucky draws will be conducted on March 5, March 21 and April 5.

TRCMPU has also become the first regional milk cooperative in the country to announce Dr. V. Kurien Memorial Employment Guarantee Scheme. The scheme will disperse Rs 2-croe worth financial assistance to the eligible 2000 dairy farmers within the region.

The inauguration of the scheme here will be held at Panchajanyam auditorium on Monday. The scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for 800 selected farmers.
