Hyderabad: One dead, 3 injured after SUV topples
Bengaluru: In a freak accident, a 35-year-old woman died on the spot while three other occupants of the car were injured when the driver mistakenly put reverse gear of an automatic SUV while on high speed.
The deceased has been identified as Savita, a resident of R.T. Nagar and hailing from Sollapura in Chitradurga district. She was working as a receptionist at a hotel.
According to jurisdictional Nelamangala traffic police, the incident took place at around 2 am on Sunday near Hosanojagal Gate in Nelamangala taluk.
The police said there were four occupants in the Hyundai Creta SUV when the incident happened. The car was heading towards Tumkuru and when it reached near Hosanojagal Gate, the driver of the car mistakenly put reverse gear while on high speed.
As a result, the SUV toppled, rolled thrice and hit a tree to stop. Savitha was sitting on the back seat died on the spot.
The Nelamangala traffic police reached the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem.
The police said that all the occupants were friends and were on outing. Nelamangala traffic police have registered a case.
