Hyderabad: Rachakonda SOT sleuths busted a PDS kerosene diversion racket and arrested a ration shop dealer and two others for diverting kerosene to the black market.
After receiving credible information, police teams raided ration shop #187 in Sachivalaya Nagar in Vanasthalipuram and found a Kerosene tanker with 7,000 litres of blue kerosene. The tanker had unloaded around 2,000 litres of kerosene in 10 drums in the shop owned by S. Kiran Kumar.
Police nabbed Kiran Kumar, tanker driver K. Venkat Reddy, tanker cleaner M. Thirupal Reddy and seized the tanker, Rs 23,410, other documents and mobile phones from them.
Police said the dealer had been diverting blue kerosene to the black market since many months and selling it for high prices.
The arrested persons and the seized material were handed over to the Vanasthalipuram police station for action.
