Vehicle breakdowns lead to traffic jam at Nagole

Uppal suddenly witnessed huge traffic jams at around 12 pm due to which they have diverted the vehicles.

Hyderabad: Many function halls are busy as the four auspicious days for marriage began on Wednesday.

Because of this, there was heavy traffic in the Nagole area in the afternoon. On top of heavy flow of vehicles, two DCMs broke down one at Warangal ‘U’ turn near Uppal cross roads and another in Ramanthapur Industrial area.

Uppal suddenly witnessed huge traffic jams at around 12 pm due to which they have diverted the vehicles.

The broken down vehicle obstructed traffic flow towards Secunderabad. Due to this, Uppal traffic police diverted vehicles travelling towards Secunderabad to Ramanthapur road so that they can travel through the RGI Stadium.

Many commuters who were travelling via that route and had no clue about the traffic jams took to Twitter to express their dismay.

One commuter named Chakravarthi wrote, “Traffic has come to a standstill form Nagole towards Habsiguda and Google Maps shows that the road from Uppal Junction heading towards Secunderabad is blocked, probably because of some restrictions imposed by the traffic police. Traffic going towards Secunderabad has been diverted left at Uppal cross roads (sic)”.

Another commuter Raman Reddy, who was stuck at Ramanthapur where another DCM had broken down expressed his agony about the traffic police’s absence at the scene and commented, “The road was blocked from Uppal to Ramanthapur for two hours, and no traffic police official was seen (sic).”

Another commuter Anoop, who got struck said, “Stuck in bad traffic for over 60 minutes (sic).”

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle M. Kashi Vishwanath, Uppal traffic inspector, said, “We tried our level best to maintain a free flow of traffic but there were two vehicles that had broken down unexpectedly between 12 pm and 1 pm. However, we have cleared the traffic, and everything became normal by 2 pm. As these four days are auspicious for marriages, we are expecting more functions and we are prepared to deal with it.”
