Mudragada calls for Kapu meet on December 23

He also demanded for setting up a special corporation to safeguard the interests of the BCs.

Rajahmundry: Noted Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham called for a meeting of the members of the community to chalk out a plan of action to make the Td make its poll promise of including their community in the BS list on December 23 at Kathipudi in East Godavari.

Speaking to mediapersons at Kirlampudi village on Wednesday, the Kapu leader said that Kapu leaders from all the 13 districts in the state would meet to discuss on the socio-economic and political issues of the community.

In view of the ensuing polls, the Kapu leader said they would discuss the future course of action to make the poll promise a reality.

He reminded that the state government that the state had alerady introduced a private bill on Kapu reservation in the Parliament and asked it to pass a resolution in the Assembly annulling it, so as to make some changes in it to suit the interests of the Kapu community to provide reservation in education and employment and send it for the Governor’s consent in order to make it a law.

He welcomed the remarks on reservation made by Chief Minister elect in Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and felt the need to enhance the quota of BC reservation by five more per cent, so as to make it 10 per cent.

He also demanded for setting up a special corporation to safeguard the interests of the BCs.

Mr Padmanabham congratulated KCR on being voted back to power for the second consecutive term. He welcomed Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) to contest polls in Andhra Pradesh.

The Kapu leader turned critical of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu for campaigning in Telangana, on behalf of People’s Front, leading to the dismal performance of the Congress. “The peple of Telangana taught a befitting lesson to Mr Naidu,” he said.

“I am praying to God to save the state from Naidu, by ensuring his defeat in the upcoming Assembly polls,” he added.
