Welfare Minister M Kandasamy lashes out at Kiran Bedi's style of functioning

Puducherry: Leading the battle against Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on-ce again, Puducherry Welfare Minister M Kandasamy took strong exception to Ms Bedi conducting review meetings with various departments and alleged that she is threatening government officials. She went ahead with her decision to conduct review meetings and held a meeting with beat police officials on Tuesday.

Lashing out at Ms Bedi for conducting a meeting with officials of Puducherry State Cooperative Bank (PSCB) at Raj Nivas on Monday, the minister said the action of Lt Governor to conduct a review in an institution without the knowledge of ministers concerned is wrong and needs to be condemned.

The minister alleged that Ms Bedi is threatening officials citing CBI.
He charged that the finance secretary is fully under the control of the Lt. Governor and is not listening to the Chief Minister or Ministers and hence, no schemes could be implemented.

Mr Kandasamy, who was always critical about Ms Bedi's functioning style, further alleged that not even 30 per cent of the Special Component Scheme (SCP) fund could be spent as the Finance Secretary is not cooperating. She is stalling the distribution of free rice and sugar to the poor. The minister said that he will meet Prime Minister and president on the issue of the Lt Governor conducting review meetings.
