Hyderabad: Teacher to face probe for caning students
Hyderabad: A noisy class led to a teacher caning tiny-tots of class I in the primary government school in Kulkacherla village in Vikarabad district on Monday. The incident came to light on Tuesday when parents observed wounds on children’s bodies.
After children told the parents that they were beaten up by their teacher Vishu Goud, parents complained to the district education officer (DEO), who ordered an inquiry.
During the inquiry by the mandal education officer, it was found that Vishu Goud, 36, caned students for making noise in the class on Monday.
The teacher asked the students not to share it with their parents. The inquiry report will be sent to the DEO on Wednesday.
Habib Ahmed, mandal education officer, Kulkacherla said, “We conducted a detailed inquiry on Tuesday and will submit the report to the DEO. Children were found with minor wounds, and the teacher said that he did not beat the students hard. He has also apologised to parents. Depending on the report, action will be taken against the teacher.’’
Vishu Goud said, ‘’I have not beaten the students very hard. They were making noise in the class, so I tried to calm by showing them a stick and hit them mildly.”
