Telangana: Lord Saneshwara statue detected
Hyderabad: A Panchaloha idol of Lord Saneshwara was found in a plot while digging near here. The discovery of the three-foot idol weighing about 5 kg created a stir in Qutballapur village of Abdullahpur-met mandal in Ranga Reddy district. The idol in a standing posture was found by workers when plot owner Vaji Rao began digging the land to build a house.
As soon as the crowbar hit the idol, the workers stopped digging and brought the idol out. Mr Vaji Rao and other workers offered prayers, sprinkled vermillion and broke coconuts. As word spread, people thronged the site. However, some suspect the finding and claim it must be the handiwork of someone who wants to construct a temple on the plot.
Police rushed to the spot and took up investigation. They also informed the department of archaeology and museums about the find.
