AIMIM ready for pre-poll alliance in Uttar Pradesh

AIMIM UP president Shaukat Ali told reporters that talks in this regard are on with various political parties.

Lucknow: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which will be making its political debut with the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, is looking towards pre-poll alliance with like-minded parties.

AIMIM UP president Shaukat Ali told reporters that talks in this regard are on with various political parties and a formal announcement would be made by AIMIM chief at the appropriate time. “We are ready to work with any political party which is committed to the welfare of Muslims and Dalits,” he clarified.

The AIMIM state chief said that his party had built a base in all 403 Assembly segments in the state and had a list of 100 candidates ready. He added that the party would announce its candidate by the end of this month or early next month.
The AIMIM leader accused the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party for using Muslims as a vote bank to further their political gains.”
