Vijayawada: In a new revelation it is learnt that neither J Srinivasa Rao who attacked Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy nor his owner D. Harshavardhan Prasad, who runs a cafeteria in Vizag airport, had obtained an Aerodrome Entry Permit (AEP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Srinivasa was given a temporary AEP for Zone D which permitted him to go till the check-in area of the departure lounge of Vizag airport. It is noteworthy that though Harshavardhan was given permission to run a cafeteria at Vizag airport in 2010, he never applied for AEP and despite working at the cafeteria for the last 10 months, Srinivasa too never applied for an AEP.
These details were given by the BCAS director general, Kumar Rajesh Chandra, in response to a letter written by Rajya Sabha member and YSRC general secretary, V Vijaysai Reddy. On Oct 25 Srinivasa had injured Jagan on his left shoulder while attempting to eliminate him with the help of a knife at the VIP lounge of Vizag airport.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security said no permission was given to Fusion Foods owner and TD leader, Harshavardhan Prasad, and accused, J Srinivasa Rao, to have access to the sensitive parts of Vishakhapatnam airport.
On October 30, Vijaya Sai Reddy wrote to the BCAS seeking security details at Visakhapatnam airport in the wake of the attack on Jagan. BCAS Director General Kumar Rajesh Chandra stated that Fusion Foods had not filed any application and Srinivasa Rao had not been given aerodrome entry permit by BCAS. Srinivasa Rao’s history had not been examined by the AP Police.
