Sunnam Nagamani says she has Congress backing

She filed her nomination on Monday and explained that the B form of the Congress will be submitted later.

Khammam/Kothagudem: Rebel heat scorched parties with the filing of nominations by Sunnam Nagamani as an independent from Aswaraopet. She claimed backing of the Congress.

She filed her nomination on Monday and explained that the B form of the Congress will be submitted later.

She said, “The Congress allocated the seat to me and I am going to Hyderabad to get the B form.” Actually, Aswaraopet was given to the Telugu Desam and the party declared Mecha Nageswara Rao as its candidate unofficially.

The sudden nomination of Nagamani has stunned TD leaders in the segment, who informed TPCC working president Revanth Reddy. The issue was referred to another working president of the TPCC Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Nagamani is a staunch follower of Bhatti and has been working for the party for the last 15 years.

Two nominations were filed from Kothagudem constituency on Monday. Gandapaneni Satish, president of the Telangana Differently Abled Persons Association filed his nomination on behalf of the Aam Admi Party.

Esampalli Vamsi Krishna, an unemployed youth, has also filed nominations for Kothagudem as an independent candidate. Vamsi said, “I filed my nomination to expose the problems of unemployed youth in the state and that all governments have done nothing for them.”

Midium Babu Rao filed his nomination as CPI-M candidate from Bhadrachalam.

The CPI-M took out a rally while filing Babu Rao’s nomination. No nominations were filed from Yellandu and Pinapaka on the first day. In Khammam district, three persons filed nominations from Khammam and Wyra and no person came forward from Sattupalli, Madhira and Palair segments.

Pyramid Party of India candidate A. Vijaya Prasad filed nominations for Khammam and submitted his papers to the returning officer. TRS candidate Banothu Madanlal filed his nominations for Wyra.

A massive rally was taken out by TRS workers on the occasion and traffic was interrupted between Khammam and Rajahmundry road.

Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao and Khammam MP P. Sudhakar Reddy were among the leaders who attended the program. Bhukya Veerabhadram filed his nominations as CPI-M candidate for Wyra.
