BJP says berth to Muslim only to woo voters
Nellore: Taking a dig on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring Muslims for the last four-and-a-half years, BJP state spokesperson K. Anjaneya Reddy said that a ministerial berth was given to a Muslim, ahead of the general elections, only to woo the minorities.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, he said that the exercise of offering ministries to a Muslim and a tribal at the fag end of his tenure is nothing but a ploy to woo the particular sections. “People are more clever than the CM and they would certainly teach him a lesson in the forthcoming elections,” he added.
The BJP leader faulted the Chief Minister for using government funds on special flights and staying in 7-star hotels during his recent tours to meet leaders of various political parties, to form a Third Front, to unseat PM Narendra Modi. He demanded the details of the expenditure on political tours.
Referring to CM’s comment that the TD wants to go for the support of MIM for the new front, he sarcastically advised him to forge an alliance with the ISI, Taliban and terrorist organisations too, apart from separatists of J&K.
Expressing concern over grabbing of very valuable land belonging to Venugopal Swamy College in the Mini Bypass Road near TDP office, he suspected the role of ruling party leaders behind the scam.
He predicted that TD leaders and ministers are certain to go to jail for their misdeeds. Speaking on the occasion, BJP District Unit President P. Surendra Reddy said they are a launching a week long campaign against corruption and diminishing law and order situation from November 19 to 25.
Both Anjaneya Reddy and Surendra Reddy have paid rich tributes to BJP senior leader and parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar, who passed away on Monday.
