Chennai: In a strong measure against exam malpractices, officials of the controller of examinations of Anna University has recommended cancelling the affiliation of an engineering college for involving in mass impersonation in the semester exams.
In the wake of revaluation scam, Anna University is taking various measures to check the malpractices during the exams and evaluation of answer scripts.
The engineering semester exams began on November 1. "One of the engineering colleges allowed students to write exams with impersonation. We have suggested cancellation of affiliation for the college for next academic year," officials said.
"The university has already cancelled the affiliation of a few colleges for encouraging in the exam malpractices," they added.
During last year, three engineering colleges were found to be involved in the exam malpractices. "In the current academic year, we have deputed faculty members from other colleges to conduct the exam in these three colleges," officials said.
Besides other measures, the Controller of Examinations has ordered a fresh evaluation of answer scripts in cases where the answer scripts having more than 30 per cent difference in the marks after revaluation.
