Ambulance with patient stuck behind TRS rally

The incident occurred on Sunday at about 3 pm and the video of the ambulance trapped in the traffic chaos went viral.

Hyderabad: An ambulance with a patient was stuck in traffic at Jawaharnagar where TRS MP Ch Malla Reddy was carrying out a padayatra. The incident occurred on Sunday at about 3 pm and the video of the ambulance trapped in the traffic chaos went viral.

The padayatra was attended by almost 300 flag carying activists.

Some of the photos of Mr Malla Reddy who was sitting on top of his luxury car also went viral. According to sources, he was sitting on top of the vehicle throughout the rally and his followers had blocked the arterial roads and were shouting slogans.

Asked about the incident, Mr Malla Reddy said, “During the padayatra an ambulance was found stuck. However, the traffic police and TRS workers intervened to clear the path. The opposition has taken this as an opportunity to portray me in a bad light. The ambulance had halted for a couple of minutes.”

A candidate from the opposition party, Mr Ramachandra Rao said, “Essential services like an ambulance should not be stopped at any cost. In case the patient has suffered damage due to delay, the candidate electioneering should be held responsible.”

Medchal inspector Gangadhar said that it was fake news.

He said, “The ambulance which was seen in the video was manipulated. It went smoothly it just stopped for a minute. The padayatra route and the vehicles which were travelling had two different routes. No one intentionally stopped the vehicle. We were present at the spot, if anyone had intentionally done it we would have booked a case.”
