Hemavathi waters up KRS level

Currently the water storage in KRS is 11.528 TMC, Kabini is 9.484 TMC, Hemavathi is 5.877 TMC and Harangi is 3.047 TMC.

Mysuru: Authorities at the KRS dam who had stopped releasing water into the canals for irrigation by October end, have now released 5,000 cusecs of water for the purpose. The water will continue to be released till November 15, according to sources.

After drawing water from Hemavathi and Harangi, the water level at KRS has slightly risen from 76.90 feet on October 31 to 81.64 feet on Friday, as against its capacity of 124.80 feet. The inflow into KRS on Friday was 543 cusecs and the outflow was 1422 cusecs. Last year on the same day, the water level was 109.68 feet.

At Kabini, the water level on Friday stood at 2265.26 feet as against its capacity of 2284 feet, the inflow was 410 cusecs and outflow was 500 cusecs. Last year on the same day, the water level stood at 2269.23 feet. At Hemavathi the water level on Friday stood at 2868.04 feet as against its capacity of 2,922 feet. While the inflow was 150 cusecs, outflow was 690 cusecs. Last year on the same day, water level stood at 2876.68 feet.

At Harangi the water level on Monday was 2824.30 feet, as against its capacity of 2859 feet, while the inflow was 90 cusecs, outflow was 1916 cusecs. Last year on the same day, water level stood at 2806.15 feet. So far the state has released 62.529 TMC of water to Tamil Nadu.
