The Congress president is still on schedule to meet former employees of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.

Bengaluru: With Congress moving into overdrive to pin the Modi government down on the Rafale issue, the Congress president is still on schedule to meet former employees of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. in Bengaluru on Saturday. Police threw a ring around Minsk Square, near the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) headquarters where the meeting between Rahul Gandhi and former and present HAL employees is being held early in the evening.

As many as three ACPs, 3 police inspectors, 35 sub inspectors, 500 constables and five platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police have been deployed for the event, set for 3:30 pm and 4:45 pm.

Senior city traffic police officers are working overtime to ensure there are no traffic pile-ups in this key intersection. However, with Saturday being a holiday for most of the companies, banks and schools, police said “there wouldn't be any traffic issues in the wake of Rahul Gandhi’s visit due to Saturday being a holiday for most of the companies and banks.” Police said the objection to the event by the HAL's Employees Union which has frowned on the participation in the event by company employees' has been taken on board.
