CPM to expose Congress suicidal' stand on Sabarimala
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM will mobilise the entire party cadre and members of front organisation to launch an extensive counter campaign against the BJP and Sangh Parivar which it said is trying to politicise the Sabarimala verdict allowing women of all ages to enter the hill shrine.
The CPM also came down heavily on the Congress for adopting soft Hindutva approach on the issue. The party felt that the Congress stand was suicidal and it would only benefit the Sangh Parivar in the state.
The party is of the opinion that the BJP and Sangh Parivar outfits were working overtime to turn the Ayyappa devotees against the party and the LDF government. The RSS and BJP which had ealier supported entry of women in Hill shrine changed the stand with clear political interests.
These parties along with a group of Hindu outfits are now leading a misinformation campaign and were trying to incite believers against the government. Hence, the CPM needs to fight this politically.
The party felt that the Sangh's viscous campaign needs to be countered effectively by communicating directly with the people. As part of the campaign, the party workers from the branch to the state level will engage directly with the people.
The CPM leaders believe that with Sangh Parivar outfits campaigning vigorously against the LDF government even at the locality level, the counter strategy to be adopted by the party needs to factor in these issue as well. The idea is to counter the campaign at the grassroots level by organising family meetings and get-togethers. All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) will be taking the lead for holding such meetings at the local level.
The party leadership says there is no need for the LDF workers to go on the defensive on the Sabarimala issue. As part of the counter campaign the party will explain the contradictory stand taken by the BJP and the Congress.
The party called upon the workers, sympathisers, fellow travellers and the people at large to support the LDF public meetings beginning from October 16 and make it a big success.
