BJP unable to digest AP's progress, says N Amaranath Reddy

TD leaders and activists staged a protest in front of the Income Tax department office at Lakshmipuram in Guntur on Friday.

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh minister for industries N. Amaranath Reddy has claimed that AP has said that unable to digest AP becoming number one in attracting investments and industries, the BJP-led Union government has resorted to carrying out I-T raids on Telugu Desam leaders.

Addressing the media at a press meet at the state TD office in Guntur on Friday, the minister alleged that the IT raids are politically motivated to weaken the TD-led AP government so that it can cause a negative impact on investments.

He claimed that despite deficit budget, absence of funds and lack of cooperation from the BJP government, AP has been pr-ogressing towards development and Andhra people have been supporting the TD. Hence, the BJP conspired to weaken and defame the TD through I-T raids.

In another programme, TD leaders and activists staged a protest in front of the Income Tax depa-rtment office at Lakshmi-puram in Guntur on Friday. The leaders and activists aired slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that the Income Tax raids were politically motivated by the BJP.

NTR Chilli Yard chairman M. Subba Rao, Guntur East Assembly constituency in-charge M. Giridhar, S.K. Lal Vazeer, S. Srinivasa Rao and others organised a rally from the TD district party office Brindavan Gardens to the Income Tax department’s office.

Minister for civil supplies N. Anand Babu alle-ged that the BJP government was trying to create fear among the investors by conducting I-T raids on TD leaders’ residences and firms to defame the TD government in AP.

He claimed that CM Chandrababu Naidu inv-ited investments by conducting partnership su-mmits at various places in the state and other countries but the BJP-led Union government has been creating uncertainty and confusion among the investors by conducting I-T raids which is severely objectionable.
