After parole, Sasikala returns to prison

BENGALURU: Expelled AIADMK leader Sasikala, who was released from jail on parole on Friday, returned to the Bengaluru Central Prison on Thursday evening.

Sasikala, who was convicted in the disproportionate assets case and lodged in the jail since February, had applied for an emergency parole to visit her ailing husband M. Natarajan. Though she had applied for 15 days, the prison authorities had granted her parole only for five days and two days' time for travelling.

Accordingly, Sasikala had left the prison on Friday. As her parole period ended on Wednesday and she had to return to the jail on Thursday, she left from Chennai on Thursday morning and reached the jail around 4.30 pm. There were only a few supporters when she was back at the prison.
