SCCL union on BJP radar
Mancherial: Political circles are abuzz that the BJP is trying to lure not only TRS MLAs and leaders into its fold, but also leaders of TRS frontal organisations, such as Telangana Boggugani Karmika Sangham, which is a recognised trade union in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited.
BJP is eyeing the SCCL union since Singareni is spread over old Adilabad, Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam districts and its 60,000 employees have a major impact on elections in these districts.
News is doing rounds that TBGKS working president Kengarla Mallaiah group is likely to quit the union and remain neutral for a while before joining the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) affiliated to the BJP. Mallaiah is said to be in touch with top leaders of the state BJP in this regard.
The Kengarla Mallaiah group has convened a meeting at Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district on Thursday and the union leader is likely to announce his decision there.
There are three groups in TBGKS right now, one headed by Venkatrao, who is president of TBGKS and another led by general secretary Miryala Rajireddy. The third group belongs to working president Mallaiah.
